Easter and Beyond

I apologize that is has been 14 days since my last post.  We have had a lot going on!! We did get to enjoy a weekend in NC for Easter, so that was wonderful.  Other than that we have been enjoying the nice weather and trying to survive a busy work time.  We are looking forward to my mom and dad visiting at the end of this week for about 4 days!!  Enjoy all the photos from Easter happenings and a few others.

Grace loves to sing and they have been practicing songs for their Easter program at school.  One night she asked me to record her singing.

The week before Easter we got to attend an Easter Luncheon and program at Grace's school.  It is always fun to see the programs that the kids put on for us.

Hat parade

They gave each of the kids an award for their hats.

After lunch they got to do an egg hunt

Easter weekend we went to NC to spend some time with our family!  We had a great time and squeezed a lot in to just a few days.

On Friday Aunt Sandy brought Grace some Easter goodies!

On Saturday we took Grace to church to for some Easter fun.

 Dying easter eggs

Waiting for the egg hunt to start

This egg hunt she got money!!  Each egg that had a 25 in it meant she got a quarter.  She loved that!!

After the egg hunt we went downtown for a Durham Bulls game.
She made it until the 7th inning before I had to bring out the backup entertainment.

Papa got Grace a Bulls shirt for her to wear at the next game.

After the game Grace got a few Easter gifts from granny & papa.

I think she had all of her Pez candy eaten by lunch the next day.

Child loves stickers!!

Matt & Allison even opened a few Easter gifts for Huntley

The Easter Bunny made it to Durham!! We enjoyed a day with the family on Easter Sunday.

All dressed up for church

After lunch we hid A LOT of eggs for her to hunt.  Since she is the only kids in the family of egg hunting age, she had a blast because everyone was following her around while she looked for eggs.

AJ helping her get the eggs that are stuck on the stop sign.  I think the big kids had too much fun hiding the eggs.

She had quite the crowd watching her

Her basket got too full so she had to move to a grocery bag.

After the egg hunt the big kids set up some more fun in the front yard.

We we lucky to get to stay one extra day and enjoy some more time in NC.  We did a little shopping and took our first trip to Pelcan Snowballs.  Aunt Allison had been wanting to take Grace to Pelcans for a while.

If there is a ride, Grace will find it.  Thank your Tanger outlets for having entertainment for my child!

My first snowball - strawberry lemonade

She loved it!

After returning from our Easter trip, I turned around and went back to Charlotte, NC on Thursday for a conference with 6 of my colleagues.  We had a great time and myself and 2 others won Best of Conference for our presentation and we get free registration to the National conference in October that is being held in Nashville!!

While I was gone, Grace got to attend a gymnastics birthday party for her friend Kyleigh and from the pictures it looks like she had a great time!

First Trip to the ER

Well this has been a bit of an exciting week in a scary kind of way.  We spent a few hours in the ER one night this week because Grace busted her lip at school on Thursday afternoon.  Luckily she is fine and didn't even require stitches since the bad cut was inside her mouth.  Being in the ER waiting room for several hours made me very thankful for just how healthy Grace has been.  Several parents came in with kids who had broken arms. I know we are in for more excitement in the injury department before she is grown, but I will take the busted lip over a broken arm any day.  Other than that, things are going well for the Arringtons.  We are looking forward to a long weekend in NC for Easter.  We arrive late Friday and leave first thing Tuesday.  We look forward to spending some much needed quality time with our family and friends.  Enjoy a few photos from the week.

She wanted to wear the bee outfit so the bees on the playground would leave her alone.  I have learned to never argue with the logic of a 3 year old!!

On the way to the hospital.  She loved the Barbie icepack!!

Not so patiently waiting for the doctor!!

Obviously not feeling too bad at this point?

This the best picture I could get of the inside of her mouth.  It was NASTY!!

Finally scanned her latest school picture. Got it back a few weeks ago.

Official photo with the Easter Bunny that now cost an arm and a leg!!

Being silly with the Easter Bunny

She wore these while we had dinner!!

I had been wanting to try making cake pops for a while and finally did today.  They turned out yummy and pretty!!
