Catching Up from the Month

I remember when Grace was first born and I would update the website with photos every day.  I have lost my touch and need to work on being better at blog updates and photos.  We have had a lot going on since my last update, so I apologize that this one may be long, but I promise it is well worth it!

I will start with my birthday weekend!  Mom and dad came in on April 19th to spend the weekend with us an celebrate.  We crammed a lot in to just a few days.  We planted and fixed up the flowerbeds outside our apartment, had a fun dinner with friends for my birthday and did some shopping.  All around it was a wonderful weekend and we were very sad to see them leave.  We are so blessed to have them come spend that weekend with us.  Enjoy the photos...

The first thing Grace wanted to do was show Granny
and Papa how much she loves riding her bike.

On Friday afternoon we did a pretty extreme makeover to the flowerbeds outside our apartment.  We had planted some day lilies last year but wanted to add some colors and make things look better.  We enjoyed having Papa here to help us!

This was one the flowerbeds before

Grace was eager to help Papa with the potted plants

Between riding her bike and helping with the plants...she was thirsty!

And the right side

Troy and dad...proud of their work!!

After a little rest of the flowerbed project, we joined some friends at Chuy's to celebrate my birthday.  YUM!

On Saturday we went to Opry Mills for a little shopping!  It was great to have that mall back open and it took us most of the day to go through the whole place.

Helping mommy make muffins for breakfast to give us energy for shopping.

Showing off what granny for her at the Vera Outlet Store

Of course we had to stop a Build-a-Bear

On their last day in town we enjoyed a yummy lunch at Miller's Grocery.

We had such a great time with them granny and papa while they were in TN!

This time of the year is always a little bitter sweet. Classes are ending, students are graduating and moving out of the halls.  This year quite a few of the students that I love dearly were graduating.  I can say I am honored to have been a part of their college careers and look forward to seeing their success in the future.

We had a few of our student workers who graduated so we took them out to a nice lunch to celebrate them.

Fortunately for me, these three are not going anywhere!!
Grad school keeps them here!!

I love every student I get the privilege of working with.  These flowers and card are from a special student, Stephanie Harris.  She was in my class a few semesters ago and we have kept in touch throughout her time at MTSU.  It is great to see students like her be successful.

As the weather has gotten warmer over the last few weeks we have started to enjoy all the lovely things that warm weather brings...bike rides, ice cream and morning pictures outside!  Enjoy a few random photos from the last few weeks.

Thanks to Ms. Laurie we had a yummy treat at Marble Slab after school one day

Our first day lily bloom

With all the sunshine and warm weather all of our plants are looking fabulous!

Our flowers are really growing!

Mother's Day is more and more special each year for me.  I am reminded how I was blessed with such a wonderful gift that not everyone gets...a daughter!

A child's love is evident when they still love you even though you look like this first thing in the morning.

Bless to have this little bee as my daughter!

This weekend we decided to go pick some strawberries and we had a blast.  The weather was beautiful and we got to enjoy some outside time.

We rounded out our weekend getting Grace's 4 year old photos made today.  Only about 10 days until she turns 4.  Where has the time gone!?

WOW...if you made it through all of that you deserve a reward!!

We are heading to NC on Thursday of this weekend for an exciting weekend with our family.  I promise to not wait forever to post about our trip!
