Christmas (Sugar) High

Two posts in one week…can you handle it?

We may have to tie Grace to her bed to keep her in it tonight.  She has had three celebrations in the last 6 hours!!  I had the opportunity to go to school this afternoon for her class celebration and spend some time with all the cute kids in the class.  I manned the snowman memory game station.  Let me tell you, 5 & 6 years olds have a WAY better memory than this old lady.  The classroom parents put together some really great activities for the kids and it was good to be in the classroom.  I was reminded today just how hard of a job teachers have and just how blessed I am to have my child at Easley with Mrs. Farr and Mrs. Harriss.  God has placed them in the perfect jobs and they are fabulous at it!

Enjoying her snack.

Showing off the snowman bookmark she made during the celebration

So, after school she decided she did not want to go home with mommy and instead went to afterschool so she could participate in the Christmas party there too.  When I picked her up at afterschool she tells me on the way home all the "treats" she had - three handfuls of cheese puffs, 3 cookies and ice cream.  Normally I would freak that they gave her such junk, but it's a special time of year, so I let it go.

Tonight we went to church for a short kids singing program and a birthday party for Jesus.  It was cute to see the kiddos sing and see Santa.  Fortunately I was able to keep Grace away from more sugar at this celebration.

Huntley might not be able to sing with the big
kids, but he can handle the drums.

Listening to the Christmas story

Talking to Santa and hopefully not adding anything to her wish list!!

An attempt to get Huntley on Santa's lap.
Why is it that Santa is so scary to kids?

These two make it all matter!

A December to Remember

For those of you who have followed our website/blog for as long as you can remember are probably mad at the 6 month break I have taken from the blog.  SORRY!  It has been a busy year all the way around.  As we settle in to the last few weeks of the year, things are no different, but I feel compelled to try to start blogging again.

Earlier this week I was downloading some photos from my phone to the computer and realized I have so many great moments that I have not been sharing.  As you all know 2013 has been, in a word, challenging!!  I would not change a thing, but am happy to be sitting here at home, in Durham, watching TV with Troy while Grace is sound asleep probably dreaming about her Elf on the Shelf or what Santa might bring her.  We are truly blessed beyond what we deserve!!

December has already been a fulfilled month for us…enjoy!

Grace got to visit with Santa on Black Friday

The innocence of a child!!

TOO CUTE FOR HER OWN GOOD!!

Grace wrote her own Christmas list for Santa this year.
She worked really hard on it!  This one I kept for the scrapbook!!

If you have already gotten your Christmas card from us, these next few photos might look familiar.  Our little girl is growing up too fast!!

Enjoyed some Friday night fun with the Harris's..

Jason and Troy broke in the pool table for the first time at the new house.

The girls had fun cheering on their daddies.

I hosted my first official party and invited some of my favorite ladies over for a cookie exchange.  We had a great time and were on a sugar high after tasting all the treats.

My cookie haul!

We enjoyed helping mom and dad decorate their house…

Huntley loved Papa's new train

Grace gave Huntley some pointers on how to hang an ornament.  He was mostly interested in the ornaments that were shaped like a ball which is he favorite word at the moment.

Huntley also loved granny's lighted presents.

Granny and Papa got us all tickets to the Santa Train at the Museum.  We froze but Grace LOVED it, so it was well worth the cold!

We braved the impending rain for the Bahama Christmas Parade and it was great...

Yes that is an entire bag FULL of candy she got thrown to her at the parade!

We also went to Disney on Ice after the parade…

Merida & Snow White were so excited for the show.

Our Elf of the Shelf, Boombah, has been up to no good….

Lots of cute holiday outfits….

Note:  She had to dress festive and "grinch" for school

Well hopefully all this cuteness has helped make up for the lack of posts.  I hope to do more before the end of the year.  We hope everyone enjoys all the festivities coming up with the holidays.
